PRLR: Aquabase (3D animated images)

edited November 2012 in General Discussion
Everybody remembers the Lightspeed Aquabase right? It was the HQ for Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue, it kept the Rangers safe from the forces of Queen Bansheera, Diabolico, Olympius, etc, and it was destroyed when the Batlings attacked it from inside and out. I found someone's impressive animated images of the Aquabase a long time ago and thought about it when I watched some PRLR. I'm going to share this person's handy-work with you people. Here is the link to the site where the images came from http://www.rovang.org/aquabase3d.htm.
Models created by Joe Rovang using Amorphium. Completed 1/17/01
The photos and descriptions below do not belong to me. I'm merely sharing them. Behold "Lightspeed Rescue Aquabase 3D"

1imageImage and video hosting by TinyPic" /> Here we have an overhead establishment shot of the Lightspeed Aquabase. The four corner towers, clockwise from upper left, are [Unnamed], Pod Four, the southwest tower, and the Train Bay tower. The three domes, from left to right, are [Unnamed], the Submarine Bay, and Rescue Ops. The Transport tunnel leads south to land.
2imageImage and video hosting by TinyPic" /> View as seen by the approaching submarine. This side of the Aquabase faces west, toward the ocean. Note the Transport tunnel, right, leading up to the nearby southern cliff face.
3imageImage and video hosting by TinyPic" /> View from the Transport tunnel, looking north. The Rangers use this tunnel to drive in the Rescue Rover between dry land and the Rescue Ops dome. Extending up from the right side of the Ops dome is the galley dome where the teens and other personnel eat daily.
4imageImage and video hosting by TinyPic" /> View from behind the Aquabase. This is the view which would have been seen by the captured Lifeforce Megazord as it first attacked the base in the finale of PRLR. It proceeded to topple the nearest tower on the left, known as Pod Four.
5imageImage and video hosting by TinyPic" /> Nice shot looking southwest. The domes both above and in front of the center Sub Bay dome are unknown in function. The Power Core was apparently located in the Sub Bay dome, as shown in "Olympius Unbound." The Power Core would have been on a level above the Sub Bay, as the teens swam straight up into the Sub Bay in the finale.
6imageImage and video hosting by TinyPic" /> The Train Bay revealed! The Train Bay faces northwest, apparently to meet the downtown shoreline at a tangential angle. Mariner Bay's shoreline is shaped like a backward C, with the downtown area north, woods and river east (as seen in "Neptune's Daughter"), and perhaps a more suburban area south.
7imageImage and video hosting by TinyPic" /> Close-up on the Sub Bay and Rescue Ops domes. To follow the flooded route taken by the teens to swim from Ops to the submarine in the finale, trace a path from Rescue Ops (right) left into the center junction, then up into the large sub dome. This route was shown in a display of Aquabase schematics in the finale.
8imageImage and video hosting by TinyPic" /> Close-up on the Rescue Ops dome (center) and the southwest tower (right). In "Ocean Blue," Chad swam from the Ops dome to a point in the bay floor between Ops and the tower, as shown by Captain Mitchell on his Aquabase model. It was here that Chad was saved from a rockslide by Marina.
9imageImage and video hosting by TinyPic" /> View of the elevated Train Bay from the galley dome. Lower left is the Rescue Ops dome, and on the right is the Sub Bay dome. The Train Bay is not shown at full elevation, as the water's surface is much higher up.
10imageImage and video hosting by TinyPic" /> View from below the Train Bay tower, with the foreground tunnel leading to the Sub Bay dome. The Train Bay, when shown with the Aquabase, is ridiculously small in contrast to shots above water, which will show the Train Bay as utterly enormous. In Go Go V, the Train Bay was the entire base, not part of a larger construct.
11imageImage and video hosting by TinyPic" /> The Train Bay from behind. In PRLR, the purpose of the long rear pack is unknown, as is the significance of the numbers "55." In Go Go V, the Train Bay was known as the Bay Area 55.
12imageImage and video hosting by TinyPic" /> The front of the Train Bay. Each door opens to deploy its respective Rail Rescue, which in turn carries a Lightspeed Rescuezord (or Omegazord). The inner chamber contains ample room for the repositioning of Rescuezords and Omegazords by crane arms.
13imageImage and video hosting by TinyPic" /> The Train Bay, with roof apparatus clearly visible. Metal hinges around the roof, as well as certain shots during footage of the Train Bay rising, suggest the roof apparatus can rise up from a hidden position inside the bay's rear pack. US underwater shots, however, showed the roof always up.
14imageImage and video hosting by TinyPic" /> The Rangers standing on the Train Bay. Yes, they're underwater. It's just a sight gag based on the tiny Rangers erroneously shown in sentai shots of the recently emerged Train Bay. In the background is the Lightspeed sigil from which the Rescue Bird and Red Mobile Armored Vehicle would materialize in a burst of light.
15imageImage and video hosting by TinyPic" /> View above the Train Bay. The underwater origins of the Rail Rescues' track (which ran northwest from the Train Bay) and the Max Solarzord bay (which was positioned on the left side of the Train Bay) are unknown, as no Aquabase structures exist in the necessary positions.
16imageImage and video hosting by TinyPic" /> The rear of the Aquabase. The contents of the unnamed domes and towers are unknown, although Miss Fairweather was particularly distraught over the loss of Pod Four (left). Note that Pod Four is isolated from the rest of the structure, with no connecting tunnels.
17imageImage and video hosting by TinyPic" /> A parting shot from the southeast. In the lower right foreground is Pod Four, which the Lifeforce Megazord first attacked, sending shrapnel flying past the galley dome (center, bottom) and impacting the Rescue Ops dome below it as Dana watched from a galley window. Note that the Lifeforce Megazord was insanely oversized in the finale, nearly twice the height of the towers.
